Emilio Isgrò, born in Sicily, is an Italian artist and writer, well-known for the use of the erasure technique in his artistic works. Isgrò makes his literary debut in 1956 with the poetry collection “Fiere del Sud”.
Since the 1960s, Isgrò creates one of the most revolutionary and original works, which has earned him several participations in the Venice Biennale and the first prize at the San Paolo Biennale.

In 1964, he first begins erasing encyclopaedias and other texts, making his personal contribution to the birth and development of visual poetry and conceptual art.
